Mark and I had a terrific evening playing with Codskiff at the house party and "Seagull Stew" is one of the songs that they taught us. (Sue)

Recorded by Stuffed Squid of La Scie, NL, on their second album (No Flies On We). Mark and I had the good fortune to be invited to a wonderful family kitchen party in La Scie, Newfoundland, by Valerie and Larry Whalen. So amazingly cool! Together, Valerie and Larry not only have a wonderful business, the Outport Museum and Tearoom in La Scie, Newfoundland, but they are also members of a lively band called Codskiff.

From the Dictionary Of Newfoundland English:
Tom cod - small immature codfish (Gadus morhua).
Waterloo - brand of cast-iron kitchen stoves popular in the 19th and 20th centuries which would take a birch billet probably two feet long and was often the only source of home heating.
Bunker - large bin or receptacle.
