ON BUG NIGHT WE'LL USE THE (G) SONGSHEET!

YOU CAN PLAY ALONG WITH THE FIRST VIDEO USING THE (C) SONGSHEET.  Remember that instead of [Dm7] you can just choose to play [Dm] instead. But the [Dm7] sounds sweet, and here's something to think about - form your [Dm], then add your 4th finger (pinky) to the 1st string, 3rd fret. Then keep your pinky firmly planted in place as an anchor, to move to the [Fm] and [C].

The original hit recording of the song was made in 1927 by Nick Lucas. The song was revived in 1948 by several artists, most notably Art Mooney, whose recording topped the charts for 18 weeks. Other charting 1948 versions were made by Russ Morgan, Alvino Rey, The Three Suns, The Uptown String Band, and Arthur Godfrey.

In modern times the song is perhaps most associated with Merrie Melodies cartoons, as it appeared in several of them, and is a common tune played by the string bands in Philadelphia's Mummers Parade.
