On BUG night, we'll be using the original version recorded by Glen Campbell. The riffs in these songsheets are optimally played with a low G tuning, but it will work with re-entrant tuning (high G) as well.

You can use the Melanie Doane/Jann Arden version to play along with the 3rd video below. The change in lyrics in the Doane/Arden version from the original lyrics "then you'll overlook the blindness of narrow-minded people on the narrow-minded streets" to "then you'll overlook the blindness of broken-hearted people on their broken-hearted streets" doesn't make sense to me and changes the intent of the original lyrics - but I left the lyrics as Doane/Arden sang it in the Doane version.

The song was a hit on three different music charts: it peaked at number two for one week on the country charts. "Try a Little Kindness" went to number one for one week on the Hot Adult Contemporary chart as well as peaking at number 23 on the Billboard Hot 100.
