Sloop John B

"Sloop John B" is a Bahamian folk song from Nassau. A transcription by Richard Le Gallienne, titled "The John B. Sails" was published in 1916, and a version was included in Carl Sandburg's folk song book, The American Songbag, in 1927.

The Kingston Trio's 1958 recording of this song was recorded under the title "The Wreck of the John B", but this song is best known for its folk-rock adaptation by Brian Wilson, recorded by the Beach Boys in 1966 as “Sloop John B”.
