BUG Jam “Live @ Red Bird” - June 8, 2022

Join Sue & Mark for an evening of ukulele songs and revelry! It's FREE and you don't need to be any good. This is the kind of BUG you WANT to catch!

WHEN:   Wednesday, June 8, 2022

TIME:  7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

WHERE:   Red Bird Live Music, 1165 Bank Street, one block south of Sunnyside Ave., Old Ottawa South. Also, check out their Facebook page: Red Bird Live | Facebook.

Red Bird is a new live music listening venue in Ottawa South with a brand new ERV (Energy Recovery Ventilator) HVAC ventilation system installed in November 2021 - ERV improves indoor air quality by providing fresh outside air. The venue is at street level with front and back doors.

SONGS:  We'll be playing songs from the PDF songbook that is posted below at the top of the SONG LIST and we'll display the songsheets on a screen at the front of the room. We'll take requests from the songlist - just jot your request on a piece of paper and we'll randomly draw song choices during the jam. You can also download the songbook and chord charts to your device if you'd like to use your own device at the jam.

FOOD & DRINK:  PLEASE support Red Bird by ordering a drink and a light snack. Red Bird is very happy to work with as many local companies as they can: Local Lager, Simply Biscotti Colonnade, FNG Italian Bakery, Ashton Brewing Company, Top Shelf Distillers, The County Bounty, Saunders Hard Cider, and Seed to Sausage hot dogs seared in Red Bird's panini press and served in a toasted brioche, top-sliced bun (local, ethically-raised, hormone and antibiotic free pork).

SEATING:  1000 square feet on the main floor with seats for up to 90 people, depending on setup, and the venue capacity is 100. There are some couches with side tables, regular chairs and tables, and high chairs and tables at the back and along the sides.

ACCESSIBILITY: 6 steps up from the Bank St. sidewalk, with handrails

WASHROOMS:  on main floor

PARKING:  street parking and small parking lot at the south end of the building

COVID precautions:  We really want to see you but please don't come if you aren't feeling well, and as a layer of protection and a comfort zone for yourself and others, for this event we ask that you wear a mask with the exception of when you're eating or drinking. Singing together in close proximity is different then just talking together. We also hope everyone has had all the vaccines they're eligible for - Mark and I have each had our 4 vaccinations.

IF YOU CAN'T JOIN US LIVE, no worries! We'll record the jam, so that you can play along with us anytime! Be sure to plug an external speaker into your computer to listen so that you'll hear the uBass and get the full effect! In the recording, no one's names appear on the screens! We'll upload the jam video and the songbook we use for the evening on our BUG Jam Videos page.

If you'd like to help Sue and Mark cover the monthly costs they pay to maintain this website, please consider making a small donation. Thank you for your support.
