"Beautiful Sunday" has been described as the biggest international hit in the British bubblegum pop genre. It peaked at No. 15 on Billboard Hot 100 on 16–23 September 1972, at No. 21 in the United Kingdom on its original release in 1972. The song is commonly used for the 'Slosh' dance, a popular line dance originating in the west of Scotland and often performed at weddings, music festivals and dance halls. Now a new viral Afro house remix of the original track that was released in May 2026 has taken hold of Zumba classes!
