Meadow Muffin Blues

Canada had Bob and Doug Mackenzie, the Ottawa Valley had Delmer MacGregor. "Meadow Muffin Blues", from the "Live Muffin EP", recorded at the Talisman Hotel in Ottawa on October 22, 1981 (with Michael O'Reilly [aka Cecil Wiggins] along with The Prescott Brothers) took Delmer's fame to it's pinnacle.

DELMER... OTTAWA'S BOB or DOUG?

Canada had Bob and Doug Mackenzie, the Ottawa Valley had Delmer MacGregor. "Meadow Muffin Blues", from the "Live Muffin EP", recorded at the Talisman Hotel in Ottawa on October 22, 1981 (with Michael O'Reilly [aka Cecil Wiggins] along with The Prescott Brothers) took Delmer's fame to it's pinnacle. In particular, 'Dance the Gidday' and 'Meadow Muffin Blues' were rare radio commodities, each receiving regular airplay on rock and country radio stations alike.

The songs on the EP; "Meadow Muffin Blues", "Dance the Gidday", "Roll Your Own" and "Valley Funk" speak for themselves... they reek of self-deprecating rural Canadian comedy. Mostly written by sidekick O'Reilly, Delmer helped out with 'Dance the Gidday' and the last track is an instrumental by The Prescott Brothers.

Love 'em or hate 'em? Does 'still like a lot' count?
