Lennie Gallant and band performed over 200 sold-out performances of his runaway theatrical hit "Searching For Abegweit: The Island Songs & Stories of Lennie Gallant" which included "Has Anybody Seen My Skates". The show is a musical love letter to Prince Edward Island that stars the artist himself and presents his compositions about the Island alongside comedic stories, poignant tales, and Island legends.
Lennie said about "Has Anybody Seen My Skates": The legendary goalie and wonderful person Johnny Bower left this world a couple days ago… When I was a kid I watched him on television many a Saturday night while sitting at my dad’s side. A few years ago, I was performing at a benefit for the Summerside Boys and Girls club, and Johnny was there. I played my song HAS ANYBODY SEEN MY SKATES that night and afterwards, Mr. Bower came over to thank me for putting him in a song. What an honour to meet him and get a picture along with my dad who was at the event. The song talks about playing hockey on a pond as a kid where everyone had either Habs sweaters or Leafs sweaters on and it goes, 'Three Jean Béliveaus on a power play, that Johnny Bower had no chance’ We had a laugh about that….he said ‘one Jean Béliveau was more than enough, thank you very much!’… I’m sure Béliveau will now be extending a hand to greet him warmly …may he rest in peace.
