YOU CAN PLAY ALONG IN THE SAME KEY AS THE FIRST VIDEO except that I've added an extra 4 bars of 4 for the cup pattern at the beginning, and I've added 8 bars of 4 at the end. Each complete cup pattern goes over 2 bars of 4. Be sure to learn how to "play" the cup percussion by watching the video tutorials below! We'll be handing out cups at our BUG Jam and hope we'll get many playing the cups!

"Cups" is a version of the 1931 Carter Family song "When I'm Gone". It was later reworked by British musicians Heloise Tunstall-Behrens and Luisa Gerstein,  and recorded under the group name Lulu and the Lampshades in 2009. They performed the song using the cup game for percussion under the title "You're Gonna Miss Me". Anna Kendrick learned the song and routine, and performed it in the 2012 film Pitch Perfect, prompting dozens of other Youtube users to submit cover versions of the song using the Cup Clap technique. It was soon dubbed The Cup Song.
