BUG Jams are for everyone in the Ottawa area who loves playing ukulele! Come out to strum, sing, eat, drink, and be merry! All levels welcome! Children who play uke are welcome with a parent although songs may occasionally have some adult themes. We have so much fun!
HOSTED BY SUE AND MARK ROGERS
IMPORTANT NOTICE: no BUG JAMs at the Clocktower Pub until further notice.
INSTEAD - we'll be doing online BUG PyJAMa Jams using Zoom! Click on the links on the Events Calendar for all the details for BUG events.
Where: Clocktower Brew Pub, lower level, 575 Bank Street, Ottawa
When: 3rd Wednesday of every month from 7 to 10 p.m. But come early and join us downstairs for a delicious dinner, snack, or drinks, anytime after 5:30 - meet new friends, share ukulele tips, tricks, noodle…(come and find out what noodling is!)
We project the words and chords on 5 large screens in the room using OnSong. We also post a PDF book of the songs we're going to play at each BUG Jam, a few days before the jam so that you can download a copy to your tablet, or print out a copy if you prefer a hard copy. If you are coming to the jam and have the OnSong app, the songs can be sent to you ahead of time or beamed to you at the pub on the night of the jam.
Beginners - don't be shy! Don't wait to come to a jam until you "get better". You'll get lots of help from fellow ukers and even though you might not be able to keep up with everything right at the beginning, you'll still be able to belt out the songs, and you'll catch on quickly to the chords with practice. We suggest that you start becoming familiar with chords such as C, C7, F, G, G7, D, D7, B flat, A, Am, A7, Em, E7 to maximize your experience. An electronic chromatic tuner is also an invaluable purchase!
BUG Facebook: We post events on our Facebook page that BUGs might be interested in, and members use it to communicate, post uke videos they've enjoyed, and all sorts of other uke-related info of interest to Ottawa ukers.
But all info for BUG members about BUG jams and outings is posted on this website, right here!
